found on an architectural structure. They were originally designed to serve as a
spout (gutter like) to throw or carry rainwater clear of a buildings walls. They later became strictly ornamental and assumed many forms. Over one thousand years ago,
the superstition of gargoyles was known as a time of darkness and a world of fear.
